Why use STE?

Simplified Technical English (STE) is a controlled language that is used throughout the world.

You use STE to:

• improve readability and comprehension

• have a consistent way to write technical content

• remove ambiguity

• reduce the time and cost of human translation

STE is used in many industries, including our defense industry. STE is a technical information requirement for many organizations, including the Department of Defense. It is also a core part of Aerospace and Defense industries Association of Europe's (ASD's) S1000D and also the Air Transportation Association's (ATA's) iSpec2200. If you write technical or business content, then use STE to avoid ambiguity, improve clarity, and improve readability.
